Lymph and Floor Physio

Passionate in treating cording and preventing lymphoedema in breast cancer patients and retraining bowel routine in patients with irritable bowel symptoms.

Cording

Cording is a rope like tight structure usually found under the armpit or along the inner side of the arm or the elbow, forearm, limiting movement of the shoulder, causing a pulling sensation to the shoulder, axilla, elbow, or wrist, or under the breast when you try to lift your arm. The pain can be quite debilitating and treatment usually involves regular stretching and specialist treatment from therapists who are trained to mobilize and unwind these tight connective tissues. Cording commonly happens after a surgery or radiation treatment. Regular stretches will help prevent cording. At Lymph and Floor
Physio. Our lymphoedema physiotherapist is very passionate to treat axillary cording and her patients has always got very good results from her treatment. She believes this is something she needs to check routinely for her patients as a prevention too to avoid lymphoedema to establish. A good therapist should be able to visualize that before a patient starts to complain symptoms.
